About CSEF

Craig Stevens, an internationally acclaimed master horseman, instructor and trainer of both horses and riders, spent a lifetime researching and collecting equestrian literature. Because many of the equestrian masters who came before him wrote their riding manuals in French, Craig taught himself French and painstakingly translated the written words of the early masters into English, striving wholeheartedly to remain true to the original meaning of every word.

Craig’s dream was to make these careful translations, along with his extensive collection of equestrian books and documents, available to students and others who wish to ride horses with finesse, tact and appreciation for horses as the sentient beings they are.

The Craig Stevens Equestrian Foundation, a non-profit 501 C3 organization, was formed to bring Craig’s dream to reality. Craig’s entire collection of popular as well as hard-to-find and even rare books and documents on horsemanship are safe-guarded within a library. Many books are hardcover or spiral bound; some fascinating documents are simply stapled together, and many have been digitized. A password protected, secure lending system is currently under development. These materials will be made available to members of the Craig Stevens Equestrian Foundation (CSEF).
