Remembering a Legend on
Craig Stevens Day
In tribute to Craig’s birthday, we invite his friends and students to come together in spirit around the world for a day of fun and celebration—September 23.
To honor Craig’s gift of harmony with horses, which brought us all together, we hope to celebrate with joy and exuberance the equine love within our community.
Please find away to make the festive day your own. Don a comfortable flannel and engage with your horse; groom, work in-hand, ride, or just spend some quiet time in the paddock as a member of the herd. Share stories and laugh with friends who understand this passion. Re-read the books Craig loved, translated or wrote.
As you go about the day, consider sharing those stories, along with photos, on this website.
Honoring Craig
In honor of Craig’s legacy, we invite you to support the Craig Stevens Equestrian Foundation, which is dedicated to preserving and sharing his life’s work. Your donation helps ensure that Craig’s teachings, values, and deep respect for the horse live on, providing future generations with access to his wisdom and philosophy. This birthday, join us in celebrating Craig’s lasting impact by contributing to the foundation that keeps his legacy alive.

On Craig Stevens Day, we celebrate not only Craig’s remarkable work but also his wonderful sense of humor. Craig loved to tease and laugh, and in his honor, we keep that playful spirit alive on his birthday. Each year, we invite everyone to join the fun by dressing like Craig and sharing their photos—it’s a lighthearted way to remember the joy he brought to so many lives.

No matter the occasion—formal or casual—Craig always stayed true to his style: jeans, a flannel shirt, and a baseball cap, with his trademark ponytail peeking out the back. On Craig Stevens Day, we honor him by dressing in his signature look, embracing the simplicity and consistency that made Craig unmistakably himself.
